Angkor

Angkor Wat and the surrounding complex of temples served as the seat of the Khmer Empire from 9th to 13th century and at the heart of the largest preindustrial city in the world.

The original Khmer Style architecture is well preserved and has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag.

Romantically set amongst farmland and jungle, this ancient wonder is now a Unesco World Heritage Site, reminding its visitors of a great era and more prosperous Cambodian civilization.
